Your DEFENDX® mouth guard is built to protect you under pressure — but it performs best when fitted correctly. Follow these steps to mold your guard for a secure, comfortable fit that stays locked in during intense action.
🔧 Step-by-Step Fitting
Instructions
1. Heat Water
Boil water and let it cool slightly to around 70–80°C. Do not overheat - this
preserves material integrity.
2. Submerge Mouth Guard
Place the mouth guard in the hot water for 30 seconds. Use tongs or a spoon to
keep it fully submerged.
3. Remove & Shake Off Excess
Carefully remove the guard and shake off any excess water. It should be soft
but not collapsing.
4. Fit & Mold
Place the guard in your mouth and bite down firmly. Use your fingers and tongue to press and suck against your teeth and gums for 30 seconds.
5. Cool & Set
Remove the guard and let it cool for 30 seconds. Test the fit. If needed, repeat
the process for a tighter seal.
